VIRUS CORNER

Virus Risk Levels - What do they mean?

I'm sure you've seen or heard of "Virus Risk Levels" before. They are typically defined as High, Medium, or Low, but what do they actually mean?

Listed below is a break down of the risk levels and their general meaning. Keep in mind that the following definitions are general and that each supplier of Virus filtering software may have their own unique definitions.

High Risk

  • Virus that has been reported very often from the field
  • Has and can spread rapidly on a given platform or common operating system
  • Will cause file destruction or non-repairable damage
  • Large-scale security breaches

Medium Risk

  • Viruses that are gaining in frequency
  • Have a payload that can spread on common operating systems
  • Cause damage that can be repaired
  • May alter non-critical settings

Low Risk

  • Virus that may not have a dangerous payload
  • Targets rarely used applications
  • May be capable of running on a common platform
  • No intentional destructive behavior

When it comes to viruses, it's critical that you take preventative measures to ensure that your computer and your network are protected.

With the low cost of managed virus scanning services such as that provided by CyberLynk (www.AgentVirus.com), you don't have to worry about updating the virus profiles each day and you can rest at night knowing that CyberLynk is filtering all your email for viruses and spam.

Taking action after you have a Virus will cost your company a lot more than implementing preventative measures. Give us a call! We can help you implement a virus filtering plan that's designed for your company.

BUSINESS CORNER

Get a website and gain new business!

Don't wait for your new customer to ask you what your website address is before you get a site. It's embarrassing and it may cost you business.

I'm sure you've heard the questions before: "What's your website address?  I'd like to learn a bit more about your company before I buy!" or "I was looking for your website, but couldn't find it, what's your address?"

With the low cost of a personalized website and the small monthly hosting fee, every small business should have a website. Listed below is a breakdown of the cost for a 4-page, basic website.

Website Development Cost: $395.00
Domain Name Fee: $35.00 per year
Website Hosting Fee: $25.00 per month (includes unlimited email addresses)

That's it! The total cost for a website! When deciding on a website, don't get bogged down with meeting after meeting trying to decide on an image or message. Put yourself in your customers' shoes and determine what their wants and needs are. Ask them what they look for in a website and deliver it...period!

Don't try to be everything to everyone. Deliver good information in a concise way and your customers will appreciate it.

If you're worried about the look and feel of your site, check out http://www.QuickEZSites.com. There you'll find over 150 inexpensive website templates to choose from.

WEBSITE CORNER

The purpose of a website!

From our perspective, a website has two purposes. Either #1-E-Commerce (sell products online via the Internet), or #2-Generate leads for your business. If your site doesn't do either, then you need to seriously question it's purpose.

As you may know, the CyberLynk.net website is not utilized for e-commerce (selling on the web). It's used to generate leads, which eventually turn into sales. However, our site didn't generate a lot of leads until we made a couple minor changes.

The biggest problem with our initial website was that it wasn't easy for people to request information about specific products or services they were interested in. Yes, our site had a "contact us" page and a form, but both were buried deep in the site. That wasn't good enough!

When someone is visiting a unique page on a site, you need to make it extremely easy for them to request more information about the products listed on the page they are on, without having to search the entire site for the contact information. It sounds easy but people fail to implement such a simple solution. You should always put an "Information Request Form" on each product page at a minimum.

At CyberLynk, we did implement the simple solution. Just take a look at our website. On almost every product page we added an "Information Request Form." By adding the form, site visitors didn't have to search for our contact us page or email address information. They simply fill out the on-page "Information Request Form" and click the "Submit" button.

This simple change is now responsible for generating eight times as many leads as before. In addition, we now know how many leads we get from specific web pages/products; something that was hard to track before the change was made.

Remember - A website is used for either e-commerce or to generate sales leads. Ask yourself if your site is doing the job!

If you would like to implement an "Information Request Form" on the product pages of your site, give us a call at 1-800-862-5965. We would love to help you implement a solution!

It's about generating leads and driving sales!

GENERAL INFORMATION

Multi-tenant Internet Service - Get broadband service without the hassles!

CyberLynk is pleased to announce the implementation of our Multi-tenant Internet Service. The service is designed for office buildings and business parks that have difficulty accessing a broadband Internet service provider.

How does the "Multi-tenant" program work? Simple, we identify a multi-tenant building or business park that does not have broadband Internet service. After speaking with building tenants and property owners in the area, we determine if they have a need for our service. If enough people want broadband Internet service, we will deliver it.

We install a fiber connection between our existing network and the new office building or business park that needs the broadband service. We will then work with each tenant and business owner to install the level of service they require.

We provide a turnkey solution, from the physical installation of cable to the setup and configuring of the Internet connection.

If you know of someone that needs broadband Internet access, let us know. We'd love to help them. Keep in mind that you can earn $$$.$$ by referring people to CyberLynk. Call us for details!
